The Congenital Heart Program serves patients across the entire lifespan, from newborns to adults with congenital heart disease. Care is highly coordinated between Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's and the Smidt Heart Institute, with a structured approach to patient transition from pediatric to adult care. This transition is an ongoing, developmentally informed journey. Skilled pediatric and adult congenital cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, advanced practice providers, and nurses collaborate to diagnose and treat a wide range of congenital heart defects and acquired conditions. Care is delivered across inpatient, outpatient, and perioperative settings, with close partnership between cardiology, cardiac surgery, the catheterization laboratory, and surgical teams.
