The Medical College of Wisconsin’s Department of Anesthesiology, Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide care within the inpatient and outpatient pain management service team. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality improvement, and teaching. This position will provide assessment and care coordination with clinical work in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Advance practice providers work in an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians and psychologists. Clinical activities include inpatient acute pain consult services, interdisciplinary intake evaluations, outpatient therapy with a primary focus on cognitive behavioral and family systems approaches, biofeedback, collaboration with schools, group therapy, collaboration with health care providers, and care coordination. The chronic pain and headache clinics treat youth with a wide range of pain problems including headaches, abdominal pain, post-concussive syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, myofascial pain, autonomic disorders and generalized pain associated disability.
