About The Position

Acuity is hiring for a Network Engineer to be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure enterprise network infrastructure supporting Department of State cloud virtualization services and hosted infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will develop scalable, resilient, and secure network architectures that support mission-critical operations across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments while ensuring compliance with federal cybersecurity standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of enterprise network engineering and architecture experience.
  • Experience supporting federal government or DoD/DOS environments.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise routing and switching, firewalls, VPNs, SDN, and cloud networking.
  • Experience with VMware, Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, or similar cloud platforms.
  • Active security clearance (Secret or Top Secret)

Responsibilities

  • Design enterprise network architectures supporting cloud-hosted and virtualized infrastructure.
  • Develop secure network solutions utilizing Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, VMware NSX, SD-WAN, and cloud networking technologies.
  • Support modernization initiatives involving hybrid cloud, virtualization, and data center transformation.
  • Configure and optimize LAN, WAN, VPN, firewalls, load balancers, routing, and switching infrastructure.
  • Develop network architecture documentation, diagrams, implementation plans, and technical standards.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers, virtualization teams, cybersecurity personnel, and government stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of State security requirements, NIST, FISMA, RMF, and Zero Trust Architecture.
  • Troubleshoot complex network performance and security issues.
  • Support disaster recovery, high availability, and continuity of operations planning.
  • Participate in technical reviews, architecture boards, and change management activities.
