About The Position
The Hughes Center in Danville, Virginia, is seeking a Leader Adolescent Psychiatry Physician for its residential treatment services. This is a full-time opportunity, either as an employed physician or an independent contractor. The role offers an overall compensation range of $335,000 to $365,000 for employed physicians. The position provides a collegial work environment with strong clinical and administrative support, including oversight of two experienced Nurse Practitioners. The facility is a new 96-bed unit with expanded resources. The program serves adolescents and young adults aged 13-22, offering residential treatment and a day school for students in grades K-12. It supports individuals with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), focusing on building skills for greater independence.
Requirements
- MD/DO from an accredited program
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Virginia
- 5–6 years of training experience
- Must meet credentialing requirements
Nice To Haves
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, or General Psychiatry with extensive Child & Adolescent experience
- Interest in intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, and PDD
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in Adolescent Psychiatry for residential treatment services.
- Oversee two experienced Nurse Practitioners.
- Focus on helping patients build skills for greater independence in their homes, schools, and communities.
