About The Position
Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting a Mechanic to join their operations team. Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a strong track record and a commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. They operate three mines in Canada and Mexico, with a portfolio of development-stage projects and an early-stage exploration project. Their core values include safety, teamwork, environmental sustainability, integrity, and commitment. Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life underground gold mine located near Matachewan, Ontario. The recent expansion has increased production and free cash flow, positioning it as a foundation for future growth. The company is seeking motivated individuals to join their team, emphasizing growth, high performance, and a culture of safety and accountability. This role is crucial for keeping critical mining operations running safely and efficiently, focusing on heavy equipment maintenance and underground mining operations in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience in underground mining operations.
- Proven ability to diagnose, repair, maintain, and overhaul mobile mining equipment.
- Excellent understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Ontario or Interprovincial Trade Qualification preferred.
- Accredited in Underground Common Core Modules.
- Specialty module accreditations considered a strong asset.
- Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
- Passion for maintaining high-performance equipment and supporting safe mining operations.

Responsibilities
- Inspect mobile mining equipment, identify faults and malfunctions, and perform detailed diagnostics using computerized testing equipment and troubleshooting methods.
- Perform equipment removal, installation, alignment, repairs, and overhauls on underground mobile mining equipment and heavy trucks.
- Interpret and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems using schematics to diagnose complex equipment issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance activities including cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and testing to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Open and maintain work orders, identify required parts, complete parts lists, and document repairs accurately using available resources.
