About The Position

The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy-duty tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations while meeting DOT and company standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of mechanical maintenance and repair experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to provide and maintain personal mechanic tools required for the position.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing, stooping, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work overtime, varying shifts, and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within the first six months of employment.
  • Experience performing mechanical and electrical repairs on over-the-road tractors and trailers.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspections, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize work assignments.
  • Experience training or mentoring others.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a variety of weather conditions and industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on tractors, trailers, and fleet equipment.
  • Complete and document DOT inspections, repair orders, and maintenance records accurately.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems on fleet equipment.
  • Respond to breakdowns and perform after-hours or emergency repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Work closely with supervisors, dispatchers, and team members to support operational efficiency.
  • Assist with inventory management of parts and maintenance supplies.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements while working in a fast-paced environment.
