About The Position
The Material Handler helps ensure the efficient flow of materials within warehouse and production environments. The role receives, stores, and distributes materials and products accurately and safely to support operational needs, collaborating with inventory control and shipping departments to maintain accurate records and timely order fulfillment. It requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols to prevent damage and maintain workplace safety. The Material Handler contributes to supply-chain productivity by managing materials from receipt through shipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving processes.
- Ability to read and interpret barcodes and use warehouse management systems.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials safely.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with assembly-line operations.
- Certification in forklift operation or other material handling equipment.
- Experience with computerized inventory control systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, to move products within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking and packing accurately to fulfill shipping and receiving requirements.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, and report discrepancies or damage.
- Maintain organized storage areas and ensure materials are stored safely and in compliance with company policies.
- Use warehouse management systems and barcode scanning technology to track inventory and update records.
- Deliver materials and components as needed to support assembly-line operations and maintain production flow.
- Work overtime as required to meet operational deadlines and support peak workload periods.
