About The Position

This position supports Goodwill Industries of San Antonio by distributing donated goods for processing, shipping, or future storage. The role helps advance the organization’s mission of changing lives through the power of work. The Material Handler moves and processes donated materials, maintains production records and clean work areas, follows inventory and loss-prevention procedures, and may assist on trucks. The position also involves providing friendly customer service and helping safeguard team members and property.

Requirements

At least 6 months of successful experience in a fast-paced, physical, outdoor, service-oriented warehouse environment.
Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve mission goals.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
For positions requiring driving: maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed when using a personal vehicle for company business.

Responsibilities

Load, unload, and move materials with a hand truck or forklift to or from pallets, racks, or shelves to support the production cycle and distribution of donated goods.
Place textiles into a baler from a hamper or cart, weigh bundles, and transfer them to designated locations using a hand truck or forklift.
Maintain production records.
Keep work areas and facilities clean and organized, including sweeping, emptying trash cans, and disposing of trash in appropriate containers.
Follow loss-prevention, inventory-control, and compliance procedures.
Fill in as an assistant on trucks.
Maintain regular and dependable attendance and punctuality.
Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers and responding to questions or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
Help safeguard Goodwill team members and property from harm, damage, or theft.
Immediately report observed or suspected theft, fraud, violence, or unethical or inappropriate behavior to a supervisor, Human Resources, or the Ethics Hotline.
