About The Position

The Lead Material Handler operates material handling equipment to move products within a warehouse while following safety procedures. The role includes mentoring and training new material handlers and filling in for supervisors as needed. Work takes place in a fast-paced warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations. The schedule is 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Requirements

• At least 12 months of related warehouse experience, or an equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
• Ability to become certified to operate material handling equipment and to operate required equipment safely.
• Ability and willingness to keep the work area clean.
• Ability to adopt safety procedures and ensure safe work practices.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
• Basic English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible.
• Ability to work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift; overtime is required based on business need.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull equipment or merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must wear safety composite work shoes.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train new material handlers.
• Fill in for supervisors as needed.
• Lift, lower, carry, and move products in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Stack empty pallets and maintain a safe, clean workspace.
• Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, and electric pallet jacks.
• Follow safety procedures and promote safe work practices.
