About The Position

The Material Handler will perform general stocking labor including moving freight, stock, and other materials. The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties required. Employee works under general supervision. Employee has little or no decision-making responsibility. The employee has little or no impact on the decisions of others. None. Basic, introductory on-the-job training.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to handle materials and equipment in a responsible manner.
  • Must be able to perform duties in time to required deadlines.
  • Position does not require any previous experience working with office software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0-1 Year Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Transports freight, stock, and other materials by hand or by the use of trucks to and from various locations.
  • Sorts cargo before loading or unloading.
  • Loads and unloads cargo using appropriate tools.
  • Uses bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
  • Checks & packs order as they come in.
  • Transfer materials from receiving to back room and from upstairs to dock for truck pick up.
  • Marks containers with identifying information or tags.
  • Stacks cargo where directed using pallets or cargo boards.
  • Restocking shelves, makes sure there are always boxes on hand and keeps the area clean.
  • Uses daily production sheets or work tickets to record the number of units moved or managed.
  • Other duties as required.
