About The Position

The Material Handler handles the movement, tracking, and storage of materials and finished goods. The role operates equipment; loads and unloads pallets; verifies inventory; and performs labeling, inspections, and paperwork while maintaining safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. The work includes sustained time at heights of 20 to 40 feet above ground using fall-arrest gear.

Requirements

Must pass an eye exam.

Nice To Haves

Ability to pass the Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification test.
Ability to pass the overhead crane operations certification test.
Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

Lift and transfer materials and products from supply pallets to line or cell pallets and staging areas.
Count and verify pallet contents, then log or scan information into a computer.
Separate pallets containing mixed parts onto individual pallets for storage or shipment.
Load and unload tractor trailers of pallets using sit-down or standing powered industrial trucks.
Attach identification and labels to products and materials.
Lift and carry products and materials to fabrication, assembly cells, the dock, and other areas.
Work at heights of 20 to 40 feet above ground for sustained periods while using fall-arrest gear.
Operate the scale.
Operate and maintain the corrugated recycling station.
Operate the overhead crane system.
Perform inventory-control procedures, paperwork, and computer work.
Inspect parts, orders, and equipment for quality and safety using a checklist.
Take individual responsibility for personal and area safety.
Perform general housekeeping duties and other similar or assigned departmental duties as required.
