About The Position
Caterpillar is hiring a Machinist at its East Peoria Building KK facility. The role operates, sets up, and adjusts automatic lathes to perform machining operations on miscellaneous parts. The work supports production of critical drivetrain components used in Caterpillar machines. Safety, integrity, teamwork, and quality are emphasized.
Requirements
- Technical school education or an equivalent educational background in a mechanical or similar discipline.
- Previous CNC or machine shop experience.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Nice To Haves
- Awareness of Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain (5S).
- Awareness of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
Responsibilities
- Execute machining operations on N/C lathes, including complex combinations or limited combinations of operations close to tolerance.
- Manually operate vertical turret lathes.
- Adjust single-spindle automatic cutoff machines to perform cutoff and/or chamfer operations on barstock, tubing, and similar materials.
- Apply safe working methods.
