Requirements

• Two years related experience and / or training or an equivalent combination of education and training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner and complies with company policies.
• Determines the uses of personal protective equipment (PPE); identifies the safety equipment and procedures related to safe work practices and surrounding environment.
• Runs and completes parts using the MRP Network.
• Uses the MRP system to clock in and out of jobs upon set-up and completion.
• Maintains and fills out quality sheets to verify part tolerances.
• Operates equipment to verify operational efficiency and allowed time standards.
• Calculates dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and dial calipers.
• Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
• Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
• Aligns and secures work-holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products, and determines product dimensions and tolerances.
• Conducts job hazard analysis for conventional mills and lathes.
• Develops math skills for machine tool operation.
• Performs preventive maintenance and housekeeping on conventional mills and lathes.
• Selects work holding devices for mills, lathes and other machine tools.
• Calculates tool feed and speeds.
• Removes material using milling and turning processes.
• Aligns milling head.
• Uses a manual and CNC Mill or Lathe to center drill, drill and ream holes.
• Changes tools and tool holders on milling machines.
• Maintains tool life for job production.
• May perform other duties as assigned by management.
