About The Position

This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office. The Machinist will provide instruction/training to other employees, set-up, adjust, and operate a wide variety of machining equipment and a wide variety of parts to close tolerance. They will make exacting setups, and may select feeds, speeds, and operational sequence, calculate ratios, and proof/edit and manually program machining instructions. The role involves loading/unloading parts, cycling the machine, and running designated quantities for production runs. The Machinist must maintain close proximity to the work area to detect/diagnose malfunctions, recognize defective workmanship, and perform inspections of machined products. Communication with co-workers, creating/generating procedures, testing new tools and methods, and maintaining the condition of the cell, machines, tooling, and fixtures are also key responsibilities. Collaboration with other departments like engineering may be required to streamline production processes. The role also involves utilizing Continuous Improvement tools, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures, maintaining a clean work area (5s standard), and working safely. Assistance to other departments may be required when work in the primary area is limited. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Load/unload parts, cycle machine, and run designated quantity for production run.
  • Maintain close proximity to work area as to be ready to detect/diagnose malfunction in machine operations (such as worn or damaged tools) and to determine need for adjustment or repair.
  • Recognize defective or faulty workmanship, correct and report issues to department lead.
  • Perform inspection of machined products (including documentation of results).
  • Communicate with co-workers regarding production runs.
  • Create/generate procedures of complexity for production processes (for machining of specific parts and issues).
  • Test new tools and methods.
  • Responsible for condition of the cell, machines, tooling, and fixtures.
  • May work closely with other departments (engineering, manufacturing engineering) to help smooth/streamline production processes.
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement tools to identify, reduce, eliminate waste and lower costs.
  • Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly (5s standard).
  • Work in a safe manner and follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure personal safety as well as safety of co-workers.
  • When limited/no work in area, will provide assistance to other departments based on workloads and customer needs.
  • Provide instruction/training to other employees (new employees, as well as experienced employees) to develop skills and to produce production parts to specifications.
