About The Position
A Developmental Disability LPN is a specialized LPN who provides medical and behavioral care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This position is located in Springboro, OH, and the current hours are 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday, overnight. The role can alternate 3 nights with an RN.
Requirements
- LPN license
- Experience providing medical and behavioral care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
- Ability to administer medications
- Ability to manage medical equipment (like feeding tubes)
- Ability to monitor chronic conditions
- Ability to develop Individualized Service Plans (ISP's)
- Ability to coordinate with interdisciplinary teams (doctors, occupational therapists, speech pathologists)
- Ability to advocate for patients' rights and accommodations
- Ability to educate family members
- Ability to supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSP's)
Responsibilities
- Administering medications, managing medical equipment (like feeding tubes), and monitoring chronic conditions.
- Developing Individualized Service Plans (ISP's) and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, including doctors, occupational therapists, and speech pathologists.
- Protecting the rights of patients and ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations in schools, workplaces, and healthcare settings.
- Educating family members and supervising Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) who assist with daily living tasks.
