About The Position

The Financial Literacy Coach will work with RHY youth to set financial literacy goals and increase financial awareness and empowerment for the youth in our RHY programs. The candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively with other DYCD providers as needed.

Requirements

  • Conduct a minimum of 150 personal counseling and coaching sessions annually, providing tailored one-on-one guidance to help youth navigate complex personal and financial landscapes.
  • Lead on-site workshops and group sessions at the Drop-in Center (DIC) to engage and support at least 200 youth throughout the year.
  • Deliver 4 educational workshops per month at each assigned site, ensuring consistent access to vital life skills and resources.
  • Facilitate 2 virtual workshops annually, specifically designed to include and invite residents from Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) facilities.
  • Coordinate and execute 2 citywide financial literacy events per year in partnership with DYCD and DCWP to promote broad-scale financial health.
  • Meticulously track and report all workshop offerings for Drop-in Centers and residential programs within the DYCD Connect system to ensure compliance and program transparency.
  • Provide flexible, high-level support to DIC staff and general program operations as needed to maintain a seamless service environment.
  • Actively create and lead outreach opportunities to educate community members, local partners, and stakeholders about the critical services provided by the Drop-in Center.
  • Serve as a primary ambassador for the program, ensuring that youth in need and the surrounding community are fully aware of available resources.
  • Must be able to pass Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), including the physical portion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide: 4 educational workshops per month per site, 2 virtual workshops annually per coach (invite residents in RHY facilities), 2 citywide financial literacy events organized by DYCD and DCWP per year
  • Report workshops offered to Drop-in Centers and residential programs in DYCD Connect
  • Create outreach opportunities for community members to learn more about the DIC and the services that it provides

  • Act as a role model - guiding clients and facilitating appropriate behavior about daily living skills, self-care, personal interaction, social relationships, and constructive time management.
  • Maintain and promote a cooperative, harmonious, teamwork environment, interacting with clients and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
