The Library Assistant II is responsible for conducting circulation functions in the Legal Information Center. They work under the supervision of Associate-in-Law. This role involves assisting patrons at the Circulation Desk, responding to requests via phone and email, checking materials in and out using the integrated online library system, and updating patron and bibliographic records. The Assistant also helps patrons locate materials, opens and closes the library, monitors facilities and security, and ensures patron compliance with library policies. Additionally, they assist with shelving, shelf reading, inventory, shifting, and other assigned projects. The role also coordinates and maintains the UF Law Scholarship Repository and related digital scholarship platforms, communicating with faculty and journals to ensure accurate uploading and organization of scholarship. Collection maintenance includes filing, shelving, and updating looseleaf services pocket parts and supplemental materials. The position may also involve working on other library projects, such as policy updates and team projects.
