About The Position
We are seeking dependable and hardworking Skilled Construction Laborers to join our team in Bessemer, Alabama. The ideal candidate has experience working on commercial and/or industrial construction projects and is comfortable performing a variety of physical tasks while assisting skilled trades and superintendents. This position offers steady work with opportunities to grow within the company.
Requirements
- 2+ years of construction labor experience preferred.
- Experience on commercial, industrial, or civil construction projects is a plus.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Experience with demolition, framing, concrete, excavation, or general site work is preferred.
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow basic construction drawings is a plus.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-focused.
Responsibilities
- Perform general construction labor on commercial and industrial job sites.
- Assist carpenters, electricians, plumbers, concrete crews, and other skilled trades as needed.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Clean and prepare job sites, removing debris and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and perform grading or site preparation.
- Assemble and dismantle temporary structures, barricades, and scaffolding when required.
- Measure, cut, and install basic building materials under supervision.
- Follow project plans, supervisor instructions, and OSHA safety standards.
- Complete other duties as assigned to support project completion.
- Construction laborers commonly perform site preparation, operate hand and power tools, assist skilled trades, and maintain safe work areas.
