About The Position
Haywood EMC is recruiting for a Journeyman Lineman to join our Waynesville crew. The candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and has successfully completed the NC apprenticeship program or equivalent program leading to full qualification as a Journeyman Lineman.
Requirements
- Ability to maintain valid NC Commercial Driver's License (minimum Class B).
- Ability to perform frequent physical activity to include walking, stooping, bending, regularly lifting up to 60 lbs. and occasionally lifting over 60 lbs., climbing, kneeling, reaching, crawling, pushing and working in awkward positions.
- Ability to climb poles of 25 feet and greater and perform work out of a bucket truck at height of 25 feet or greater.
- Ability to read instrument and computer readouts accurately.
- Ability to learn electrical theory and voltage of lines.
- Must live within 30 highway miles of the posted job location.
