About The Position
The Material Handler is responsible for removing shipped materials from delivery vehicles, examining receiving documents for storage destination, pulling stored materials for orders and moving them to production or shipping areas. This role involves documenting information related to the receipt, storage, or distribution of materials, packaging materials, and performing cycle counts. The Material Handler will use computer systems to locate material and work with direct supervision. Key aspects of the role include the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. Multi-tasking, proficient pulling and distributing of parts, and completing daily tasks quickly, efficiently, and adhering to quality standards are essential.
Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Multi-tasking is essential
- Knowledge of basic packing and shipping techniques
- Ability to understand and adhere to company safety rules and regulations
- Ability to follow the procedures, techniques, tools and processes appropriate to materials handling
- Good math skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
- 1-2+ years materials or related work experience required
- Valid driver’s license as required
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic knowledge of Oracle and Agile systems
