About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Five (5) years of practical level experience as a Master Electrician.
• OSHA 10 Hour Construction must be obtained within fifteen (15) days of date of hire.
• Possession of International Code Council (ICC) certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector at the time of hire.
• Possession of a Master Electrician Certificate issued by a recognized public agency as determined by the Building Official.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Nevada state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record.

Nice To Haves

• Electrical Plans Examiner certification within one (1) year of hire/reclassification.
• Commercial Combination Inspector Certifications in Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical within (2) two years of hire/reclassification.
• Nine (9) years of journey level experience as a Journeyman Electrician with Journeyman Electrician Certificate issued by a recognized public agency as determined by the Building Official may be substituted for the education and experience required above.

Responsibilities

• Conducts detailed inspections of electrical systems in building construction and renovation in progress and upon completion to verify continuous compliance with approved plans, specifications and applicable codes and ordinances specializing in electrical inspections.
• Performs inspections, investigates and analyzes problems and recommends solutions for modifications and repairs to existing complex systems, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Provides guidance to contractors, builders, and the public.
