About The Position
Inspired by the casual elegance of Italy, Bar Sprezzatura is a unique escape into Italian culture and cuisine. Located in the heart of downtown Portland in the historic Heathman Hotel, Bar Sprezzatura is a bustling lunch spot by day and aperitivo and cicchetti bar at night. Whether enjoying a bustling meal, an aperitivo, or savory snacks, guests are transported to a world where timeless traditions meet the vibrant, sun-kissed charm of coastal Italy. As a Host at Bar Sprezzatura, you are the first and last impression of the guest experience. With warmth, organization, and grace, you’ll manage reservations, greet and seat guests, and ensure a seamless flow in the dining room while setting the tone for exceptional hospitality.
Requirements
- 1-3 years’ experience in a fine dining or casual fine dining high volume atmosphere
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to learn and retain information quickly
- Intellectual curiosity
- Ability to work clean, organized, and as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task
- At least 16 years of age
- Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with Open Table, Seven Rooms, and register POS systems preferred
