About The Position

We are seeking enthusiastic and engaging hosts to lead team-building events for corporate groups in the Boston area. Responsibilities include facilitating activities such as guacamole making competitions, museum scavenger hunts, and high-energy trivia events. teambuilding.com, formerly Museum Hack, has a proven track record of hosting successful events for numerous companies, earning significant positive reviews and recognition. The company's mission is to build happier teams, with event hosts being central to this mission. Hosts bring their authentic personalities and professionalism to internally developed content, ensuring high-quality and fun experiences. The role involves minimal on-site supervision, requiring dependable, self-starting individuals with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Hosts will manage event supplies, travel to venues, learn material quickly, and adapt to unexpected situations. Lead Hosts will connect with clients pre-event and manage the event flow, while Cohosts will support by managing supplies, scoring, tech, music, photography, and cleanup. Solo hosts will perform all these duties.

Requirements

  • Age 21+.
  • Reliable transportation for self-reporting to events in and around the Boston area.
  • Flexible weekday availability (events typically run between 10 am - 7 pm, with occasional variations).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Extremely dependable self-starter.
  • Comfortable being in and sharing the spotlight.
  • Able to learn and memorize content, and deliver it naturally.
  • Ability to think on your feet, improvise, and creatively problem-solve in front of guests.
  • Willingness to attend and successfully pass training, including skills demos.
  • Ability to stand for 2-4 hours.
  • Ability to manage supplies of up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to utilize communication platforms (texts, email, Slack) for internal communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Performance background in theater, improv, stand-up comedy, MC-ing, or tour guiding.
  • Very comfortable and familiar with breaking the 4th wall/crowd work.
  • Very comfortable memorizing content and making it your own.
  • Experience in customer-facing service positions (serving tables, retail, front of house, etc.).
  • Creative writing experience (playwriting, sketch comedy, marketing copyright, blogging, novelist) in addition to performance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Hosting and co-hosting teambuilding.com Originals events in the Boston area.
  • Facilitating activities such as guacamole making competitions, museum scavenger hunts, and trivia events.
  • Ordering supplies for events.
  • Self-reporting to various venues.
  • Learning event material on a sometimes quick timeline.
  • Adapting to any twists or turns that come up in the moment.
  • Connecting with the client in the time leading up to the event (for Lead Hosts).
  • Delivering the best possible experience on the day of the event.
  • Splitting supply load, keeping score, running tech, DJing, taking pictures, and assisting with cleanup (for Cohosts).
  • Performing all hosting duties if working solo without a cohost.
