About The Position

BrightStar Care is hiring compassionate, dependable Home Health Aides (HHA) for ongoing care positions, providing essential in-home support to clients. This role focuses on helping clients maintain comfort, dignity, and independence at home while building meaningful connections. Caregivers assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and light housekeeping, including bathing, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene, and maintaining a clean and safe home environment, as well as providing companionship and assistance with everyday activities. The current schedule available is 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. BrightStar Care seeks reliable, patient, and committed caregivers who embody The Golden Rule. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one (1) year of documented home care assistance and/or direct care experience at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility, etc.
  • Certified CPR
  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
  • Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance (proof of insurance is required)
  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Ability to adhere to HIPAA and ensure confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and communicate effectively
  • Up-to-date vaccinations including COVID-19, Influenza, and Hepatitis B

  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant or certified home health aide program

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and light housekeeping, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, personal hygiene, and maintaining a clean and safe home environment.
  • Support safe mobility and transfers while assisting the client with movement and positioning.
  • Assist with ventilator care (training available), PEG feeding, colostomy care, and wound care as needed.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to ensure client comfort, dignity, and well-being.
  • Monitor and report any changes in the client's condition to supervisors or case managers.
  • Follow the established care plan and maintain clear communication with the care team.
  • Provide client-facing care as assigned.
  • Provide assistance with daily tasks as directed in the client's personalized plan of care, including but not limited to: feeding, meal preparation, linen changes, light housekeeping, providing transportation to doctor appointments, outdoor activities, and shopping.
  • Provide companionship, personal and hygiene care as directed in the client's personalized plan of care, including but not limited to: bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, undressing, toileting activities, and assisting with measurements, if necessary.
  • Assist clients with active and passive mobility work defined by the plan of care, and document observed changes to the Director of Nursing.
  • Adhere to the policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency of employment.
  • Adhere to HIPAA laws and ensure confidentiality and security of the client's medical information.
