About The Position

Requirements

• GED Certificate or High School Diploma Required
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must be able to attain a Forklift Operator License within 30 days of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Delivers pallets, totes, and supersacks of ingredients from warehouse or freezers to Dry Ingredient, IQF rooms, and downstairs tomato dumping area.
• Assists IQF Vegetable Operator in dumping ingredients.
• Delivers caps to Filler rooms.
• Operates forklift in a safe manner.
• Reports maintenance issues as they occur and submits work orders when necessary.
• Follows all DFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and works in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory quality, and sanitation requirements.
• Utilizes scanners or thin client units to make SAP transactions for the purpose of maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring reliable product traceability.
• Performs items on the Master Sanitation lists when production is not running.
• Handles cleaning chemicals in a safe manner utilizing safety equipment such as gloves, eyewear, etc.
• Clears cardboard, trash, and excess pallets from Powder Handling and Individually Quick Frozen rooms.
• Maintains sanitary equipment conditions during production.
• Maintains a safe environment and performs other duties in a safe manner at all times.
• Assists in training new operators.
• Functions in a team-based structure and positively contributes to team-based efforts.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
