About The Position
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking Heavy Duty Mechanics at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 7x7, 12-hour shift, Day / Night shift schedule. This opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position. Requirements
- Red Seal Interprovincial Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification required
- Previous experience working on Komatsu 830E haul trucks, D375 dozers, Cat 16M graders, Komatsu PC8000/PC2000 shovels, and Atlas Copco 271/351 Pit Viper drills an asset,
- Welding ticket would be considered an asset,
- Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision,
- Requisite to possess a valid driver’s license,
- Demonstrate eligibility to work in Canada,
- Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements.
- Successful completion of pre-employment screening requirements and drug & alcohol testing,
- Provide proof of a valid class 5/7N driver’s license,
- Provide confirmation of valid educational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses faults or malfunctions in all mobile mining equipment and then determines the safe and more efficient method of repair,
- Works safely with multiple trades in a production environment,
- Performs any other responsibilities related to the Heavy Duty Mechanic role as required or as assigned by the department head.
