About The Position
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join its Tampa, Florida office. The intern will provide administrative and operations support for roadway-related projects, compile highway and roadway data, and support highway design development using CAD software. Projects may include the I-75 Progressive Design Build and Interstate 4 (I-4). The role also coordinates operations within the organizational unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures and requires the ability to use standard office software. Interns participate in Explore, the company’s intern development initiative, with opportunities for hands-on experience, professional support and mentorship, career and educational exploration, client site visits, weekly Lunch & Learns, and other virtual or in-person activities. The expected compensation range is $25–$31 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
Requirements
- By the start of the internship in Summer 2027, have completed 60 hours toward a civil engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
- Have good computer skills.
- No experience is generally required if accepted into an associate's or bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operations support on roadway-related projects.
- Compile highway and roadway data for projects, which may include the I-75 Progressive Design Build and Interstate 4 (I-4).
- Support the development of highway designs using CAD software such as OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Coordinate operations within the organizational unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.
- Use standard office software.
