About The Position
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern on DwyerOmega’s Materials Characterization Systems (MCS) team, you will be paired with an experienced mentor and work in both office and laboratory environments. You will support new product development and sustaining engineering efforts for technologies that characterize the physical properties of early-stage electronic and magnetic materials. The internship runs from January through April 2027 and is full-time, on-site in Westerville, Ohio. DwyerOmega manufactures instrumentation solutions for the Process Measurement, Automation, Control, and HVAC markets. Its engineering team helps customers select technical and configured product solutions for their applications.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related discipline.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Familiarity with CAD software.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity.
Nice To Haves
- SolidWorks proficiency preferred.
- Experience with Python preferred.
Responsibilities
- Create and refine mechanical components using SolidWorks.
- Use SolidWorks, ANSYS, and MATLAB to simulate and optimize designs.
- Perform mathematical analyses to support design decisions.
- Conduct hands-on testing and analysis of new designs in laboratory settings.
