About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to be based in Waterloo, Iowa. The position is expected to begin in May 2027 and is designed to introduce and build hands-on skills that complement academic learning and support the transition from student to professional. Interns receive duties intended to provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study. The role is onsite.

Requirements

• Be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, and have completed at least two years of study.
• Recent bachelor’s degree graduates may apply if they plan to continue toward a master’s degree, were enrolled in their bachelor’s degree program in the most recent school term, and intend to pursue an advanced degree in the same or a similar discipline after the internship.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check in accordance with company policy.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with Civil 3D and/or Bentley ORD.
• Experience with Iowa SUDAS.
