The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will be involved in the general supervision, care, and activities of the individual(s) in the home and/or the community. These activities may include assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), providing supervision for health and safety, transporting individuals for appointments, and implementing support plans. This is a safety-sensitive position. The role involves assisting individuals with food preparation, kitchen duties, and meal preparation following nutritional requirements. It also includes assisting individuals with room care and general house cleaning. Medical responsibilities include reporting observations, administering medications after training, encouraging healthy choices, and becoming familiar with medical protocols. Personal care assistance may include bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and eating meals as outlined in their Individual Support Plan. Other duties include transporting individuals, supervising general activities, handling emergencies, communicating with relevant parties, attending staff meetings, and participating in annual training.
