About The Position
The nature of the job of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is to provide 1:1 care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at home and in the community. This role is part time supporting an individual midday on weekends. Weekday daytime shifts also available based on candidate's preferences.
Requirements
- Trained on the Indiana Home and Community Support Professional standards.
- Trained on Behavior Support Plans, Risk Plans, or Medication Administration as needed.
- Proficiency in documenting work records via AccelTrax.
- Ability to clock in and out using Electronic Visit Verification if applicable.
- Ability to write progress notes including goals worked on.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 care to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities at home and in the community.
- Assist individuals supported with self-care, self-direction, expressive or receptive language, ambulation or mobility, activities of daily living (ADLs), learning, independent living, economic self-sufficiency, physical activity, or community participation.
- Document work records via AccelTrax with mandatory clocking in and out using Electronic Visit Verification if applicable.
- Write narrative notes for each shift detailing assistance provided, individual's whereabouts, and duration of activities.
- Complete Incident Reporting as needed.
