About The Position
Merakey is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join their team at their Philadelphia location. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to create long-term impacts on consumers' lives and enjoy encouraging, mentoring, and coaching others to achieve their goals. Responsibilities include spending days in various settings making memories with individuals, following the Individual Support Plan to work on social and communication skills, enhancing independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care, and teaching daily living activities such as housekeeping and laundry.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a desire to help others reach their fullest potential.
Nice To Haves
- Verifiable High School diploma/G.E. D preferred.
- Experience in a home health aide setting, or school setting working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental disabilities is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Following the Individual Support Plan
- Working on social and communication skills
- Enhancing independence by assisting with daily hygiene and personal care
- Teaching daily living activities, such as housekeeping and laundry
