About The Position

Requirements

• Successfully complete a Dietetic Technician Program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy.
• Hold current certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and maintain active certification in good standing throughout employment.
• Be proficient with computer software.
• Be familiar with standards of practice used in the assessment of geriatric patients.
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Know practices and procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a post-acute care facility.
• Perform proficiently in competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough and timely nutrition documentation for each patient to identify problems, issues, or needs to be addressed through the interdisciplinary team and care plan process.
• Complete assigned parts of nutrition documentation in accordance with State requirements.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Patient Care meetings involving nutrition.
• Assist the Registered Dietitian in collecting nutrition information.
• Assist with other food service duties as required.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude toward patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Maintain dependable, regular attendance.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Follow applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, department policies and procedures, company policies, and Life Care’s Code of Conduct; complete mandatory compliance training.
• Maintain professional working relationships and confidentiality.
