Buildings and General Services at the State of Vermont has an exciting opportunity with room for growth as a Custodian Institutional, with Operations and Maintenance. The BGS Custodian Institutional is tasked with custodial cleaning and minor maintenance work caring for the Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital (VPCH). This position will work individually or as part of a group at the assigned facility, clean patient rooms, bathrooms, offices, and other patient/resident spaces, strip and wax floors, spot and extract carpet, operate motorized floorcare equipment, instruct others in work methods and proper use of equipment, keep an inventory of supplies and may submit orders, and perform related work as required. This is a full-time position and the hours are 12pm to 8:30pm Saturday through Wednesday. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a criminal background check are required. As part of the Operations & Maintenance Division, you’ll be joining the largest team within BGS, offering real opportunities for growth and skill development. This position is eligible for a sign-on and retention bonus of up to $1000!
