About The Position
St Elizabeth Rehab & Nursing is looking for a motivated, reliable Cook with a strong work ethic to join their team. Requirements
- Ability to review menus and prepare meals accordingly
- Work with the Dietitian & Dietary Manager as necessary and implement recommended changes as required.
- Ensures that food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
- Performs administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc. and submits to the appropriate party.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position; lift, push, pull, carry heavy objects. Stand for long periods of time, walk, bend and stretch.
Responsibilities
- Review menus and prepare meals accordingly.
- Work with the Dietitian & Dietary Manager to implement recommended changes.
- Ensure food procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
- Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms and reports.
- Assist in establishing food service production line to assure meals are prepared on time.
- Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
- Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.
- Prepare and serve meals that are appetizing and palatable in appearance.
- Assist in serving meals on a timely basis.
- Serve meals in accordance with standardized portion control procedures.
- Prepare food in accordance with standardized recipes, therapeutic diets, and special diet orders.
- Ensure appropriate utensils and equipment are provided with the resident’s meal tray.
- Prepare bedtime snacks.
- Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refused foods served.
- Assist/direct daily cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assist in food preparation for special meals, parties, etc.
- Ensure that stock levels of staple/non-staple food, supplies, and equipment are maintained at adequate levels.
