About The Position
This position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules, ensuring meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner. The role involves assisting in meal preparation, safe food storage, cleaning of the dining area and kitchen facilities, maintaining kitchen inventory, and processing gifts-in-kind documentation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year experience cooking food for large groups OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- State-Issued Food Handling Certification
- Serv-Safe Certification (or ability to become certified)
- Valid State Drivers License
Responsibilities
- Prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules.
- Ensures meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner.
- Assists in preparation of meals.
- Stores, refrigerates, and freezes foods in a safe manner.
- Cleans dining area.
- Cleans kitchen facilities and equipment.
- Maintains high degree of cleanliness in kitchen and dining area.
- Maintain inventory of kitchen food and supplies to meet needs of kitchen.
- Receive donated goods and processes gifts-in-kind documentation.
