About The Position

Requirements

• One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology
• An equivalent combination of experience and training
• Possession of a valid non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent
• Meet the PA residency requirement

Responsibilities

• Perform on site safety reviews and monitor potential hazards on construction projects
• Review wage rates, classifications, and payrolls to ensure adherence to regulations
• Evaluate plans, specifications, and contractor submissions to ensure project requirements are met
• Direct inspection activities for materials, workmanship, and construction methods
• Prepare reports, record quantities, and support work order and estimate development
• Assign work, review performance, and support training for inspection staff
