About The Position
Tavacon, LLC is a Commercial General Contractor based in McKinney, Texas, currently seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our in-office team.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and processes
- Proficient in computer skills with experience in estimating and project management tools
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications to evaluate all required scopes of work
Nice To Haves
- 3+ years of construction estimating experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
Responsibilities
- Reviewing plans, specifications, and project documents to perform accurate quantity takeoffs
- Soliciting subcontractor proposals and compiling detailed scopes of work
- Attending pre-bid meetings and conducting site visits as needed during the bidding process
- Evaluating project scope and requirements to ensure successful project execution
- Developing preliminary schedules and calculating cost factors for project estimates
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors through effective communication
- Negotiating subcontractor pricing and managing subcontract buyouts
- Preparing and submitting RFPs, RFIs, and change orders as required
