Product Manager, License Compliance & Entitlements

Centric SoftwareCampbell, CA
Hybrid

About The Position

Centric Software is seeking a Product Manager for License Compliance & Entitlements to manage how enterprise customers are provisioned, configured, and governed according to their contracts. This role involves analyzing customer configuration and usage data across various deployment models (vendor-hosted single-tenant, customer-cloud single-tenant, and on-premise) to ensure license compliance. The Product Manager will develop the product roadmap and tooling to prevent license misuse, and enable go-to-market and support teams with data-backed insights on entitlements. A key challenge is governing customer access to the platform's APIs through AI services and RPA/integration platforms, which requires defining licensing, policies, and contract language. This is a hands-on role requiring comfort with data analysis, product strategy, contract review, and customer interaction.

Requirements

  • 3–7+ years in product management, license/entitlement management, or software compliance.
  • Direct experience with enterprise software in a B2B context, ideally with single-tenant, customer-cloud, and/or on-premise deployment models.
  • Demonstrated experience with software licensing, entitlements, or license compliance (vendor/publisher side strongly preferred).
  • Product management capability: owned a roadmap, prioritized across stakeholders, and shipped features or tooling in partnership with engineering.
  • Strong data fluency — able to analyze usage/configuration data, spot anomalies, and turn findings into a clear narrative and recommendation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce customer-facing materials and represent the company confidently on customer and prospect calls.
  • Comfort operating cross-functionally across sales, engineering, support, and legal, and influencing without direct authority.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI service licensing and/or governing programmatic API access via AI/agentic tools (e.g., MCP servers) or RPA / integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft, Workato).
  • Familiarity with API productization, usage metering, or consumption-based licensing models.
  • Experience supporting customer audits, true-ups, or revenue assurance.
  • Exposure to contract structure and negotiation and working alongside legal on licensing terms.
  • Background in software asset management (SAM), GRC, or entitlement platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; MBA or relevant certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer user configuration and usage data across all deployment models to verify customers are operating within the scope of their contracts.
  • Identify patterns of license misuse, overage, or ambiguous usage, and translate findings into clear, evidence-based summaries.
  • Establish repeatable methods and metrics for measuring entitlement compliance across a diverse enterprise customer base.
  • Define how programmatic access to APIs, including via AI services and RPA or integration tools, is licensed, measured, and enforced.
  • Partner with product and engineering to design entitlement models and controls appropriate for automated, machine, and agent-driven usage.
  • Anticipate emerging access patterns and proactively address them with policy, tooling, and contract clarity.
  • Own a product roadmap of compliance and entitlement feature improvements, prioritized by risk, revenue impact, and customer experience.
  • Work with engineering to improve administration and entitlement tooling to prevent or automatically surface license misuse.
  • Balance enforcement with usability to protect the business without creating friction for legitimate customers.
  • Partner with the sales team to audit customers, present usage data, and support true-up/expansion conversations.
  • Equip the support team ahead of product releases, especially those affecting license usage, to confidently answer customer questions.
  • Create customer-facing materials, including training content, release notes, and sales presentations, that clearly explain usage policies and entitlement changes.
  • Contribute to the improvement of customer contracts to clarify permitted usage, close ambiguity, and reflect new access models.
  • Partner with the legal team to update contract language and licensing terms, and ensure product controls and contractual terms stay aligned.
  • Join customer and prospect-facing calls to explain usage and licensing policies and answer questions.
  • Serve as a trusted voice on usage and licensing policies, representing both company interests and a good customer experience.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Sales, Engineering, Support, Legal, and Product & Design teams.
