About The Position

The Trade Compliance Manager, Master Data & Controls owns the operational framework for ensuring Philips Respironics import/export part-number data, trade documentation, and broker-facing compliance information are complete, accurate, current, and actionable. The role establishes and maintains a controlled trade-compliance data-management system so active or traded part numbers have the master data, documentation, regulatory flags, and ownership required for compliant, efficient customs clearance. The manager is the single point of accountability for trade master-data readiness across SAP plant names, Philips trade databases, customs broker platforms, and internal workflows. The role will shift a reactive, request-driven process to a governed and visible system that supports proactive compliance, faster clearance, fewer broker escalations, and stronger regulatory readiness. This is a field role. Philips describes itself as a health technology company focused on improving access to quality healthcare. US work authorization is required; candidates who need visa sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in trade compliance, customs operations, import/export operations, master data, logistics, regulatory operations, or supply-chain controls.
  • Working knowledge of import/export compliance, including HTS/HS classification, country of origin, customs documentation, IOR, PGA/FDA requirements, valuation, and recordkeeping.
  • Experience with SAP, ERP master data, trade-compliance systems, broker platforms, or structured operational databases.
  • Strong Excel, reporting, data-quality, and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in supply chain, logistics, business, international trade, engineering, data management, or a related field; four years of relevant experience in trade compliance, master data, customers and equivalent may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to perform the position’s minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental requirements, with or without accommodation.
  • Independent problem-solving, strong attention to detail, cross-functional influence, and process discipline.
  • Ability to use data, reporting, workflow tools, and AI-enabled analysis to identify gaps, manage corrective actions, and sustain compliance performance.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional actions without direct authority.
  • US work authorization; the company will not consider candidates who require work-authorized visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, regulated manufacturing, or complex global supply chains.
  • Familiarity with SAP GTS, SAP material master, customs broker portals, Power BI, workflow tools, or AI-enabled analytics.
  • Knowledge of FDA import processes, AD/CVD, Section 232, ECCN/export controls, and broker entry processes.
  • Customs Broker License, CCS, CES, or similar trade-compliance certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the accuracy, completeness, and visibility of import/export trade-compliance data across SAP, product master systems, trade databases, and broker platforms.
  • Establish data standards, governance processes, and controls for trade attributes such as classifications, country of origin, regulatory indicators, and supporting documentation.
  • Align trade-compliance data across SAP, invoices, broker databases, and other repositories to prevent shipment delays and clearance issues.
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies, addressing broker inquiries through root-cause correction rather than one-time transactional fixes.
  • Partner with trade, customs, legal, and compliance stakeholders to monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on products and parts.
  • Build change-management processes to update systems, validate data, document compliance actions, and confirm broker readiness for regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, planning, logistics, warehouse operations, quality, finance, suppliers, and trade teams to close data gaps and resolve compliance risks.
  • Develop workflows, accountability structures, escalation paths, and governance forums for timely resolution of high-risk trade issues.
  • Create dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting covering data quality, compliance risks, broker holds, documentation gaps, and overall readiness.
  • Develop SOPs, playbooks, and standardized processes, using automation, analytics, workflow tools, and AI to improve efficiency, data validation, and exception management.

Benefits

  • Generous paid time off (PTO).
  • 401(k) with up to 7% match.
  • Health savings account (HSA) with company contribution.
  • Stock purchase plan.
  • Education reimbursement.
  • Comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program.
  • Other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission, or long-term incentives, may be offered.
