About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate from a specialty training program.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Communication, multitasking, organizing, research regulatory environment, and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of three years of nursing experience.
• Prior oncology and/or research experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in assessing the feasibility of clinical research opportunities, including protocol and population assessments.
• Assist with preparing submissions for Institutional Review Board consideration and oversee reporting obligations.
• Develop research informed consent documents in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Conduct clinical trials, including recruitment, screening, enrollment, follow-up, and retention of eligible subjects according to protocol requirements.
• Maintain accountability for investigational drugs and devices.
• Monitor study finances for compliance with study-specific budgets.
• Provide direct patient care in the context of study protocols.
• Administer and monitor investigational drugs and devices as directed by the investigator and clinician, within the scope of professional licensure or certification.
• Administer appropriate scales and other clinical measurements within the scope of professional licensure or certification.
• Review medical records, interview patients, and collaborate with investigators and clinicians to assess patient suitability for clinical trial enrollment.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and research personnel to incorporate protocol requirements into study-related patient care, within the scope of professional licensure or certification.
• Educate subjects and families about research protocols, potential risks and benefits, and reporting health events.
• Liaise between the principal investigator and study sponsor to adapt multicenter protocols to the local environment.
• Represent the site during sponsor-initiated study audits.
• Liaise between the principal investigator and outside regulatory agencies.
