About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required within the time frame specified in facility policy.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, required within the time frame specified in facility policy.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, required within the time frame specified in facility policy.
• Demonstrated critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to function effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and team members.
• Competency in electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technologies.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines.
• Physical ability to perform required duties, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Willingness to comply with organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Previous perioperative or surgical services experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered nursing care according to established standards and the nursing process.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with policy.
• Document all aspects of patient care clearly and accurately.
• Monitor and evaluate patient condition, and communicate with the healthcare team, patient, and family.
• Coordinate and collaborate with surgical and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient care.
• Participate in patient transfers, discharge, and referrals as needed.
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post-operative care.
• Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being throughout the surgical experience.
• Attend required staff meetings and maintain required certifications and competencies.
