About The Position

Mays Plastic Surgery and Med Spa is seeking an Operating Room Circulating Nurse to provide a safe environment and nursing care in the operating room. The nurse provides updates to the surgical team and the patient’s caretakers during elective procedures and communicates closely with the pre-op and recovery team.

Requirements

• Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of employment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• ACLS certified.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and client care skills.

Responsibilities

• Document surgical procedures intra-operatively.
• Ensure a smooth and safe transition at the time of surgery.
• Dispense sterile instruments and medications and monitor the operating room during surgery.
• Handle specimens and cultures collected during surgery.
• Ensure specimens are collected by the appropriate laboratory after the procedure.
• Provide updates to the surgical team and the patient’s caretakers during elective procedures.
• Communicate closely with the pre-op and recovery team.
