About The Position

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of complex administrative, supervisory, and law enforcement work in planning, coordinating, and overseeing activities to ensure the efficient and orderly operation of the Police Department.

Requirements

  • Attain and remain current in all certifications described for eligibility for Police Officers.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice supplemented by a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a command level officer or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, to include budget management.
  • Must have a complete and working knowledge of the Law Enforcement Accreditation process.
  • Valid South Carolina Driver's License.
  • No written disciplinary actions, disciplinary suspension and/or involuntary demotion within the past twelve months that would exclude the candidate.
