About The Position
Symbiotic Services is recruiting a Buyer on behalf of a manufacturing company in Conover, North Carolina. The Buyer supports manufacturing operations through data-driven purchasing decisions, supplier coordination, and inventory optimization. The role partners with Operations, Planning, and Stockroom teams to ensure timely procurement of quality materials aligned with production needs. This is a fully onsite position at the company's Conover facility; remote and hybrid arrangements are unavailable. Relocation assistance is not available. The position offers opportunities to expand responsibilities and develop professionally within Purchasing, with potential progression into a more senior Buyer role as business needs evolve.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role; manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret purchasing and inventory data.
- Proficiency in Excel, including formulas and basic data analysis.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) and strong professional communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel periodically between plant locations and the High Point showroom.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience supporting supplier negotiations.
- Experience working within ERP or MRP systems.
- Manufacturing experience.
Responsibilities
- Analyze purchasing, usage, and inventory data to identify trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Recommend purchasing quantities and delivery timing based on forecasts, usage trends, and inventory levels.
- Monitor supplier performance related to pricing, delivery, and quality, and follow up on late or at-risk items.
- Support supplier discussions about delivery performance, quality, and pricing, with guidance from senior purchasing leadership.
- Execute purchase orders as part of an overall purchasing strategy.
- Maintain purchasing data integrity within internal ERP/MRP systems.
- Support inventory planning, including weekly inventory reviews and replenishment analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support continuity of operations and shared best practices.
