About The Position

Diversified Technologies, Inc. (DTI), an international designer and manufacturer of high-power electrical equipment, is seeking a Senior Buyer to join its growing high-technology business. The organization designs, fabricates, constructs, installs, and tests specialized high-power electrical equipment for industrial and government applications. The position is based in Bedford, Massachusetts, and is described as an immediate, full-time opening for local candidates.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with five or more years of related experience.
Familiarity with purchasing and requisition systems; experience with Deltek-Costpoint is ideal.
Excellent attention to detail when ordering supplies, components, and other items.
Vendor management skills to maintain excellent working relationships.
Proven follow-through skills to facilitate on-time shipments.
Proactive, self-motivated, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be a U.S. Person.

Familiarity with Deltek-Costpoint.

Responsibilities

Coordinate purchasing activities with engineering staff.
Obtain critical materials, components, equipment, and services.
Complete and check requisitions, obtain and examine quotes, and make awards.
Evaluate and negotiate vendor terms and pricing.
Monitor vendor performance and reliability, and develop new supply sources when vendors are inadequate.
Control and update pricing, cost, and schedules.
Maintain compliance documents for internal and external audits.
Maintain professional supplier relationships.
