About The Position

The Lansing School District is seeking an Everett Assistant Girls Swim Coach to support the success of their team(s), including in the classroom. The coach will be responsible for recruiting a full team, coaching them to a competitive record, and ensuring their academic success throughout the season. The role also involves providing offseason training opportunities and leading in-season tutoring, in accordance with MHSAA policies. The Lansing School District is committed to providing an excellent education to all students in a safe and nurturing environment and champions diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Previous successful coaching experience
  • Knowledge of high-quality coaching tactics and practice drills
  • Knowledge of MHSAA & LSD rules and policies
  • CPR Certification & first aid training
  • Alignment with Lansing School District's mission and values

Nice To Haves

  • Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate
  • Successful NCAA athletic career

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support your team(s) throughout the entire season
  • Recruit a full team of players by the first day of the season, including running competitive tryouts if necessary
  • Coach your team(s) to a winning record, with the goal of reaching and excelling in postseason play
  • Ensure all your players are academically eligible and successful throughout the entire season
  • Organize and communicate consistent practice and competitive game schedules in collaboration with the Athletic Director
  • Maintain and distribute team equipment and jerseys at the beginning and end of the season
  • Organize and operate offseason conditioning, training, and clinics for both team members and community members
  • Abide by all MHSAA policies and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission

Benefits

  • $2,817 - $8,919 one-time Stipend depends on co-curricular amount associated with the sport per the LSEA contract
