About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Washington state licensure and DEA licensure required at time of credentialing.
• ACLS certification within three months of hire date.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of ARNP or PA-C experience in Hematology and Medical Oncology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Round on all consulted Northwest Hospital inpatients.
• Report off to the consulting physician before and during daily rounds.
• Perform complex and problem-focused histories and physical examinations.
• Evaluate and manage on-treatment and post-treatment side effects.
• Perform procedures consistent with licensure, credentialing, and scope of practice.
• Collaborate and consult with other disciplines and services to support safe, effective, timely treatment and continuity of patient care.
• Participate in the conduct of cancer clinical research.
• Provide education to patients, caregivers, and peers.
• Communicate effectively with inpatient and outpatient teams.
• Participate in patient rounds, conferences, and committees.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet dynamic inpatient UWMC needs, which may include Hematology and Oncology cross-coverage at UWMC-Montlake.
