About The Position
This is a paid, 12-week apprenticeship program designed to help you build the skills needed to start a career as an automotive technician. If you meet the Manheim Apprentice Program objective completion standards, Manheim may offer you a full-time General Service Technician (GST) position with a $1,500 tool bonus and a defined career path. Participation in the Program is not a guarantee of continued or permanent employment. If you do not meet the Manheim Apprentice Program completion standards by the end of the 12 weeks, you will be exited from the Program and will not be offered a full-time General Service Technician role.
Requirements
- 6+ months of related automotive experience
- Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required
Nice To Haves
- A high school diploma or GED
- The ability to drive standard, automatic, and electric vehicles
- Attended or currently attending tech/trade school or 2-year college in an automotive training program
Responsibilities
- Work with a mentor technician for coaching and guidance.
- Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.
- Perform basic auto maintenance tech duties, including oil and filter change, fuel filter change, transmission flush and vehicle inspection.
- Learn to safely use tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Work as part of a team in a fast-paced shop.
- Perform other duties as assigned by mentor, supervisor or manager.
