About The Position

DP Electric is hiring an Apprentice Electrician to develop hands-on electrical trade skills while working alongside journeyman electricians and foremen on active commercial and industrial jobsites across Texas. The role follows a four-level progression, from Apprentice I through Apprentice IV, with increasing technical depth, independence, and responsibility. Apprentices work under the guidance of experienced electricians and prioritize safety and quality workmanship. Employees may have the opportunity to pursue DP Electric’s accredited apprenticeship through DP University; enrollment in a certified electrical apprenticeship program is required or the employee must be willing to join one. Responsibilities include assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components; bending and installing conduit; interpreting technical plans under supervision; troubleshooting electrical issues; following safety regulations and industry standards; coordinating with other jobsite trades; participating in training and mentorship; maintaining work records; and caring for trade tools in accordance with company policies. Advancement involves progressively more independent work, including underground and rough-in installations, conduit bending, panel and feeder work, branch power installations, service entrance and transformer assembly, interpreting complex plans, and managing small scopes of work. The position is field-based at active construction sites, indoors and outdoors, with exposure to weather and jobsite conditions. It requires lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, crawling, working at heights and in confined spaces, and wearing personal protective equipment. The work environment is fast-paced and requires focus, care, and willingness to learn.
